AI-generated content labelling and human-authored verification

Submitted by sudo · Apr 1, 2026

User story

As a feed consumer, I want to know whether the content I'm reading was written by a human or generated by AI, so that I can make informed decisions about who I engage with and what I trust.

Description

The platform must detect and label AI-generated content at publication time and allow users to filter their feed accordingly. Content creators who use AI assistance should be able to disclose this voluntarily, and this disclosure should be rewarded — not penalised — in feed ranking. Mandatory labelling kicks in when automated detection confidence exceeds a threshold.

Acceptance criteria

  1. AI-generation detection runs on all posts and long-form content at publish time
  2. Posts above the detection threshold (≥80% confidence) receive a visible "Likely AI-generated" label
  3. Creators can voluntarily add "AI-assisted" or "AI-generated" disclosure to any post
  4. Feed settings include a slider: "Show AI content" with options Always / Sometimes / Never
  5. Voluntary disclosure is surfaced positively in profile analytics — not penalised in reach
  6. Detection model accuracy is published publicly and updated quarterly
  7. Users can dispute a label; disputes are reviewed within 5 business days

Original request

I need a way to tell whether a post or message was written by a real human or generated by AI.
